Dr Mahmoud Abdelrahman has over 20 years of experience conducting nikah ceremonies and advising couples on Islamic marriage. He continues to officiate personally, which keeps his practice grounded in the day to day realities of the couples True Nikkah serves.
Alongside conducting ceremonies, Dr Abdelrahman has extensive experience advising on the circumstances that make a nikah difficult to arrange. This includes brides without a wali available, reverts with no Muslim family, couples marrying across borders, and cases where the correct position differs between the schools of thought. His role combines active practice with responsibility for how every ceremony at True Nikkah is conducted.

Where a couple’s circumstances raise a question of Islamic law, Dr Abdelrahman reviews the case personally and advises before any booking is taken. Where True Nikkah cannot conduct a marriage, couples are told before they pay rather than afterwards.

Every nikah is conducted following confirmation that the conditions of a valid Islamic marriage are met. Where a situation requires clarification, further information is requested before the ceremony rather than during it.
True Nikkah does not provide civil marriage registration. A nikah conducted through the service is a religious marriage under Islamic law and is not registered with any government. Couples who also require legal recognition are told clearly that this is arranged separately with the civil authority where they live.
Dr Abdelrahman enforces a strict policy against backdating certificates, issuing documentation for ceremonies that did not take place, or conducting a marriage where the conditions of a valid nikah have not been met.
