True Nikkah brings together qualified Imams, and a support team who handle every part of arranging your ceremony. We work with couples across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and worldwide.
Every ceremony is overseen by our Director, Dr Mahmoud Abdelrahman, who is responsible for religious standards and consistency across the service. All Imams working with True Nikkah are trained in classical Islamic jurisprudence and have years of experience conducting nikah for couples in a wide range of circumstances.
Alongside our Imams, we provide wali and witness services for couples who need them. These are practising Muslims known to us personally, not names pulled from a list, and they understand that they are taking part in something significant.
Below you can meet the people responsible for your ceremony, starting with our Director.
Director and Lead Imam
Dr Mahmoud Abdelrahman is an experienced scholar and the Director of True Nikkah. He is responsible for religious oversight across the service, making sure every ceremony is conducted properly and that every condition of a valid nikah is met before a marriage is concluded.
He has conducted nikah for couples in a wide range of circumstances, including reverts with no Muslim family, brides without a wali available, and couples marrying across borders and time zones. Where a situation is unusual or a couple is unsure whether we can help, Dr Abdelrahman reviews it personally and advises honestly before any booking is taken.
As Director he sets the standard for how ceremonies are conducted, verifies the credentials of every Imam who joins the service, and oversees the wording and issuing of nikah certificates.
True Nikkah works with a small, carefully selected team of qualified Imams who conduct ceremonies for couples worldwide.

Yusuf has experience supporting couples from a wide range of backgrounds and understands that every Nikah is a significant and personal occasion. He takes a warm, reassuring approach, helping couples feel comfortable and making the online ceremony straightforward and meaningful.
Outside of his work with True Nikkah, Yusuf enjoys Arabic calligraphy, collecting books on Islamic history, and exploring nature.

He has a particular interest in marriage and family life within Islam and enjoys helping couples understand the significance of the commitments they are making. Adam aims to make every ceremony feel personal and memorable, while keeping the process clear and uncomplicated.
Outside of his work with True Nikkah, Adam enjoys playing badminton, experimenting with traditional cooking, and listening to podcasts on history and culture.

With an academic background in Islamic studies, Mustafa has a particular interest in Islamic marriage, family life and the principles surrounding the Nikah. Alongside advising couples, he supports the wider True Nikkah team on more complex or less straightforward cases, helping ensure each situation is approached thoughtfully and with appropriate religious guidance.
Outside of his work with True Nikkah, Mustafa enjoys studying Islamic history, and visiting historic architecture.
Not every couple has a wali or two witnesses available.
Where you need them, we provide practising Muslim witnesses for your ceremony, and a wali appointed in accordance with Islamic guidance. These are people known to us, vetted before they work with us, and briefed on the importance of the role they are taking.
If you are unsure what applies to your situation, speak to us before you book and we will tell you honestly where you stand.
At True Nikkah, religious accuracy, care, and honesty sit at the centre of everything we do. Every ceremony is conducted under clear internal standards and in accordance with classical Islamic jurisprudence.
All religious oversight is provided by our Director, who is responsible for the quality and consistency of every nikah conducted through the service.
Every Imam working with True Nikkah is screened before joining. This includes verification of their scholarly training and qualifications, references, and a review of their experience conducting nikah. Witnesses and walis provided through the service are similarly vetted.
Your privacy matters to us. Your booking, your details, and your ceremony stay between you and us. We do not share your information with anyone outside the people involved in conducting your nikah.
A nikah conducted through True Nikkah is a religious marriage. It is not registered with any government and does not by itself make you legally married. If you would also like legal recognition, that is arranged separately with the civil authority where you live.
Our Code of Practice governs how we work. Further information on how we handle your personal data can be found in our Privacy Policy.
We started True Nikkah in 2023 to make it possible for any couple to have their nikah conducted properly, wherever they are and whatever their circumstances. Since then we have helped couples across the world complete half of their deen.
You can read more about how True Nikkah started on our About Us page.
