Join a Scholar-Led Team Making Islamic Marriage Accessible Worldwide

True Nikkah is a scholar-led organisation providing online nikah ceremonies and Islamic marriage services to couples in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, across Europe and worldwide. Our work helps Muslims marry properly when circumstances would otherwise make it difficult, with religious integrity at the core of everything we do.

We conduct nikah ceremonies over live video, led by qualified Imams, with wali and witness services provided where couples need them, through structured religious governance and carefully documented processes.

Behind our services is a growing team of Imams, governance leads, operations specialists and digital professionals working together to ensure every ceremony and every certificate is handled with care, accuracy and accountability.

If you are motivated by ethical service delivery, meaningful impact on people’s lives, and well-governed digital services, True Nikkah offers a purposeful and professional environment in which to contribute.

Our Mission

To make a valid Islamic marriage accessible to every couple who wishes to enter one, conducted properly, documented accurately, and delivered with honesty about what our service does and does not provide.

We are committed to removing unnecessary barriers to marriage while maintaining clear religious boundaries, scholarly standards, and respect for the confidentiality of the couples who come to us.

True Nikkah does not offer shortcuts, automated certificates, or ceremonies conducted without proper verification. Every service we deliver rests on genuine religious review, independent scholarly judgement, and organisational governance.

Further information about our background, leadership and approach is available on our About Us page.

Why Work With True Nikkah

Working with True Nikkah means contributing to a service that values religious integrity over volume, and governance over convenience.

Who We Work With

Imams and Nikah Officiants

True Nikkah works with qualified Imams trained in classical Islamic jurisprudence. All Imams undergo credential verification before conducting any ceremony, including confirmation of formal training, any ijazah held, practical experience and references from recognised scholars or institutions.

Ceremonies are delivered under the oversight of our Director, ensuring consistency, accountability and alignment with recognised standards of Islamic jurisprudence, while preserving each Imam’s full independence of religious judgement.

Religious Governance and Review Leads

Senior scholars support religious oversight, quality assurance and consistency across True Nikkah’s ceremonies.

Their role includes maintaining alignment with our organisational Code of Practice, supporting independent religious decision-making, and ensuring that ceremonies remain properly governed, transparent and religiously accountable.

Witnesses and Wali Services

True Nikkah provides practising Muslim witnesses, and where appropriate a wali, for couples who do not have their own. Those who serve in these roles are known to us, verified before taking part, briefed on the significance of what they are doing, and bound by confidentiality obligations.

These are not administrative roles. A person standing as witness or wali is participating in someone’s marriage, and we appoint accordingly.

Operations and Customer Support Specialists

Our operations team supports day-to-day delivery by managing bookings, communicating with couples, coordinating Imams and witnesses across time zones, and handling documentation in a structured and confidential manner.

Team members work within established information governance and data protection controls, and are responsible for handling sensitive religious and identity information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and internal procedures.

Digital and Platform Specialists

Technology and design professionals help maintain a secure, accessible and reliable platform that supports the delivery of ceremonies without ever replacing human religious judgement.

Current Opportunities (2026 - 2027)

True Nikkah continues to grow and welcomes interest from professionals who share our commitment to ethical, well-governed Islamic marriage services. We are particularly interested in individuals with formal scholarly training, experience in regulated or sensitive environments, or a background in international service delivery.

Imam / Nikah Officiant (Remote)

Status: Open — applications reviewed on a rolling basis

Contact: Please contact us via our Contact page with a brief overview of your scholarly background, your training, and your experience conducting nikah ceremonies.

About the Role

The Imam / Nikah Officiant conducts online nikah ceremonies for couples worldwide, and holds the central religious responsibility within our service. This role focuses on scholarly accuracy, careful verification and respectful communication, ensuring every marriage is concluded only where the conditions of a valid nikah have been properly satisfied.

You will work alongside our Director, our governance leads and our operations team to deliver ceremonies that are religiously sound, well documented and conducted with the seriousness a marriage deserves.

This is not a volume role. Ceremonies are scheduled with time to prepare, and no Imam is asked to conduct a marriage more quickly than proper verification allows.

Requirements

What We Offer

Equality, Inclusion and Accessibility

True Nikkah is committed to equality of opportunity and inclusive working practices. We value diversity and welcome applications from all backgrounds.

Certain roles carry a genuine occupational requirement relating to religion. By their nature, the roles of Imam, witness and wali require the postholder to be a practising Muslim, and in the case of the Imam, to hold recognised scholarly training. These requirements arise from the religious nature of the work itself and are applied only where genuinely necessary, consistent with the exceptions available under the Equality Act 2010 and equivalent provisions in other jurisdictions.

Operational, support, digital and administrative roles carry no such requirement and are open to applicants of any faith or none.

We aim to create a working environment where individuals are respected and supported regardless of age, disability, gender identity, race, religion or sexual orientation. Accessibility considerations form part of our organisational values and our digital approach, as set out in our Accessibility Statement.

If you require an adjustment at any stage of the application process, please tell us and we will accommodate it.

Our Culture

Our culture reflects the same principles that guide our religious and governance practices:

True Nikkah offers a calm, purpose-driven working environment focused on impact, quality and long-term trust.
